Privacy Policy

Effective October 7, 2026

ZipHarbor is provided by Xiaolong Xu. Archive processing takes place on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your archive contents.

Files and passwords

Files you provide through Files, Open In, or system pickers are used to inspect, create, extract, preview, and share archives. ZipHarbor does not upload file contents, names, paths, passwords, or extracted results to the developer. Archive passwords are not persisted. If iOS terminates a task, you must enter its password again.

Local storage and deletion

Settings, task records, recent file references, and favorites are stored on your device. Files imported into ZipHarbor, including photos or videos you select, are copied to the app's local Library folder and remain on your device until you delete them in Files or uninstall the app. Clearing recent task records does not delete imported files or archive outputs. Uninstalling the app removes its app-container data. Files saved to Files, iCloud Drive, or other providers remain under those services; backups, synchronization, and retention follow their settings.

System features and third-party services

Core archive processing does not require a network connection. Files may download or upload cloud files when you choose a provider. System sharing passes selected content to the receiving app or service. Those services apply their own privacy policies. Photos and videos are imported through Apple's system photo picker; ZipHarbor receives only the media you select. Selected photos or videos that depict a face are handled as ordinary files for archive creation. ZipHarbor does not detect or identify faces in them. Imported files are processed on-device. If you save or share them to another provider or app, that service's privacy policy applies.

Face ID and app-lock authentication

App Lock is optional. When enabled, ZipHarbor asks iOS to authenticate the device owner using Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Depending on the device and its settings, iOS may use Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. ZipHarbor does not collect or access Face ID biometric data, including Face ID images, depth maps, facial geometry, biometric templates, or identifiers. If you choose photos or videos that depict faces, ZipHarbor processes them as ordinary user-selected media for archive creation and does not detect or identify faces or derive biometric data from them. iOS performs Face ID matching on the device; biometric records remain under iOS control and are never available to ZipHarbor.

ZipHarbor receives only an authentication success or failure outcome so it can unlock or keep the app locked. This outcome is held temporarily in app memory; it is not saved to app storage, uploaded, or shared with the developer or third parties. ZipHarbor retains no Face ID data, and there is no face data for ZipHarbor to delete. iOS manages biometric enrollment and removal through device settings. When App Lock is enabled, ZipHarbor clears its unlocked state when the app enters the background and asks iOS to authenticate again when you return.

Accounts, ads, and analytics

No account registration is required. The app includes no advertising SDK, uses no cross-app tracking, and collects no background telemetry.

Support requests

If you email support, the developer receives the address, description, and attachments you provide and uses them to address your request. Avoid sending sensitive files or archive passwords.

Children's privacy

ZipHarbor is not specifically directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect children's personal information.
